Application Specialist Training Proposal
Goals:
a Provide a standardized set of industry developed, recognized, approved and traceable training modules to enhance understanding and application of criteria in the Standard
b Provide an understanding of accept/reject criteria to enhance an individuals' ability to consistently and correctly apply the criteria
d Teach methods and techniques how to use, navigate, locate and apply the criteria to the appropriate class/classes of production

Validation Expiry: 31 March 2013
Period of Certification for Certified IPC Trainer and Certified IPC Specialist is 2 years to end of month after validation
Certification is personal and portable. The Certification is conferred upon an individual, not a company.
Applicant Requirements - Application Specialist
The course is suitable for managers and supervisors, inspectors, administrators, operators and any other individuals that require a consistent understanding of the criteria.
Applicants should have a high level of practical experience within a production workshop environment

Applicants will be supplied with the required student training support material for use on site.
IPC reference manuals, and certificates must be purchased separately.
IPC / WHMA-A-620A Certified IPC Application Specialist (CIS) modules
Section 1 is mandatory and certification validation is established by the completion of mandatory modules.
Additional modules can be added at any time during the 2 year validation period, but re-validation dates relate only to mandatory elements.
Re-Testing
Students who complete the Application Specialist training course, but fail to pass the certification measurement criteria, may apply for a re-test of the certification measurement examination, no earlier than 24 hours, and no later than 90 days after the original test. The Trainer has the discretion to require retesting to the specific written examination, or to previously failed workmanship projects.

NB: Typical course duration is 23 hours for all modules (recommended) – normally covered in 3 days for experienced operatives with a 4th day held in reserve.
Each student will require a manual for training and testing purposes. Electroparts can supply 4 current training manuals on loan for use by students off site at a nominal cost of £10 per student.
Certification costs must be added to training costs.
Purchase of manuals for reference purposes is recommended but is optional.
